My name is Michael J. Shively. I live near Lancaster, Mo. just south of the Iowa Missouri border. I have been interested in weather nearly all my life, and completed spotter training and started actively spotting for my community when I was 16. I started actually driving to the storms in 2003, mainly just around the local area. I started to chase the great plains states in 2005, and continue to do so today. I am married and have 4 great children, 2 of whom live with me full-time. I also am a college student, which also takes up a great deal of time... so every spring, I try to squeeze some time in there to chase decent set-ups. It doesn't always work, however. I usually have to miss a few set-ups due to prior arrangements, or work. It is really pretty frustrating when those things happen. |
